ABOUT THE LANSING WALK
“I Gave My Sole for Parkinson’s” is Michigan Parkinson Foundation’s signature fundraising event. It is a Team / Pledge WALKING event that raises critical funds needed to bring support and help to those affected by Parkinson’s disease and their family members throughout ALL of Michigan. Whether you have Parkinson’s or have a loved one with Parkinson’s, “I Gave My Sole for Parkinson’s” is a fun day for the entire family (and is dog friendly). Participants have the choice of a 1 Mile OR 3 Mile route along the beautiful Red Cedar River on MSU Campus (click on the link below for the Route Map).
The money you raise stays right here in Michigan and supports the Michigan Parkinson Foundation in its mission to provide programs and services that directly impact the quality of life for those who live with Parkinson’s disease. We do this by providing financial assistance for in-home respite care, free patient educational programs offered throughout the state, financial assistance for costly medications, 74 Parkinson’s support groups, legal guidance and information and referrals for community services. Additionally we fund research that will hopefully lead to better treatment options for people with Parkinson’s.
There are lots of fundraising incentives for those that raise $250 and more. Even if you can’t join us the day of the event, you can still support the event.
Team Captains that raise $2,500 or more qualify for a VIP TENT (you’ll have your own tent that will be stocked with fresh coffee, fresh fruit, fresh juice, water, donuts and bagels – a perfect place for your team to gather before and after the Walk).
Participants that raise $500 or more qualify for a HERO Sign (24” x 18” sign that has a picture of YOUR Hero and will be placed on the walk route of ALL FUTURE WALKS). There are now over 100 HERO Signs lining the path for the walkers!
